Hi
Today has been another hot day, with temperatures reaching 37 degrees, the highest ever in Finland. But this great weather is not set to continue, with rain and thunder storms predicted for the next two days of rallying. From speaking with others the roads here actually become gripper with a bit of moisture but obviously if there is a lot of rain then there will be standing water which will make the conditions slippery. Either way I will be happy as I have always enjoyed driving in wet conditions.
This mornings shakedown went well. We did 3 runs to get more dialled into the car and to also make the last small changes. The car felt good especially on this the stage which was a very fast piece of road! We were 4th fastest of the PWRC so not a bad start.
The Super Special stage tonight was just a nice clean start to the event for us, nothing flash. It is often that a lot can be lost on these stages and not a lot gained, so the main focus is on the special stages over the next two days. We have a little more work to do on the notes tonight and then we are ready to go.
