Palmerston North Boys High School is the country's top KartSport school for the second time thanks to students Scott Blummont and Josh Drysdale.

The Manawatu school won the premier Secondary Schools category for the first time at the National Schools' Championship in Taranaki in 2005. And Blummont and Drysdale claimed it back from Christchurch's St Andrews College at this year's event, held over the weekend in Nelson.

The three-day event attracted 110 school-age karters from all over the country with class wins for Blummont and Drysdale guaranteeing Palmerston North Boys High School the Secondary Schools title and a win for Maddie Wise and sixth place finish for fellow Hawke's Bay driver Jakob Flynn enough to secure the Primary/Intermediate category title for their school, Taradale Intermediate.

In the eight years that a National Schools' Championship has been contested the the Secondary Schools' title has been held by five schools, with Palmerston North Boys High School the latest school - joining Auckland's St Kentigern College and Christchurch's St Andrews College - to claim the title for a second time.

Class titles over the weekend went to Blummont (100cc Yamaha Light), Drysdale  (Formula Junior and Junior 100cc Yamaha), Wise (Junior Restricted 100cc Yamaha), Daniel Connor (125cc Rotax Max Light) and Thomas Ingram (Cadet).
